I AM writing to commend and express my deepest gratitude to our local healthcare services.
I was taken ill at the Armed Forces Parade in Bexhill on June 30. My initial care was provided by St John Ambulance, the standard of which was praised by SECAMB who eventually took over and transported me to the Conquest Hospital. The ambulance team were extraordinarily kind, respectful and comforting.
From my arrival at A&E to admission to a ward, I found the service to be prompt, efficient and of a very high standard.
I eventually spent the next five days at the Conquest, and every member of the nursing and healthcare teams was so kind and caring. My surgeon and his team were equally as outstanding.
Hospital is never a nice time for anyone but I would like to thank everybody who came into contact with me and my family - we felt truly supported as a unit.
With grateful thanks to the hard-working and dedicated staff end to end,
