Thanks to all who have donated

Have your say

May I thank all those who have already donated this year to my Sock Appeal for Surviving Christmas.

The appeal has been very well supported to date but more new pairs of warm winter socks are still needed.

Just to remind readers, this is the 21st year of the Sock Appeal which aims to bring a little comfort over the festive period to those living on the streets or in cold conditions.

Donations of socks can be left in special Sox Boxes which are located in His Place ( formerly the United Reformed Church ) in Robertson Street, The Imagen Gallery, Claremont and at The History House in Courthouse Street.

Surviving Christmas which is the umbrella organisation for my Sock Appeal, holds its Open Christmas during Christmas Day and December 26 for those who have nowhere else to go at this special time.

The Open Christmas is held at The Salvation Army Hall in St Andrew’s Square.

Please give generously by including a pair or two of socks on your Christmas gift list and all donated socks will be distributed to those in need by organisations experienced in dealing with those less fortunate than ourselves.

May I also take this opportunity to thank you for supporting this year’s Sock Appeal and to wish you a happy Christmas and a peaceful new year.
