IT is now six months since the residents of Marlborough House were forced to leave their homes in this Extra Care Sheltered Housing Scheme due to a fire.
During this time many people have helped us and on behalf of the residents I would like to thank everyone involved and in particular, the carers, the Fire & Rescue Service and Sussex Police who all helped in evacuating the building.
We would also like to thank all the people and organisations who have made so many efforts on our behalf, from the volunteers of Christchurch who took us into their church hall and made us tea and refreshments, to Social Services who found us places to sleep, the care homes who took us in, the Marlborough House staff who travelled all over Hastings, St Leonards and Bexhill making sure that we all received the necessary care and the management of Marlborough House who sorted out so many problems.
We are grateful to all the local people and businesses who donated goods and clothing to us and raised money to help us at this difficult time and finally to the management of Hyde Housing, the landlords of Marlborough House, who are arranging the rebuilding and renovation work while would be so pleased if you could convey our heartfelt thanks to all who have helped us during this traumatic time.
