Not letting facts get in way of prejudice

MIKE Matthews (Letters, January 7) shows great mental dexterity in being able to link local problems over snow to the national economic problems which, he claims, were caused by the previous government.

It’s only possible to do this, though, if you don’t let mere facts get in the way of prejudice.

Those of us who have not been on another planet for the past two years know that the crisis was caused by the greed and recklessness of banks, started in the US and spread world-wide.

Mr Matthews is simply parroting the line that is deliberately churned out every day by this Government’s ministers, MPs and their gullible minions.

We are not all stupid enough to believe it.
