It does remarkable work in helping young people, children and families confronting all manner of difficulties in Hastings, St Leonards and the surrounding areas.

Many will already know about the Dragonflies Project which helps bereaved youngsters but fewer may know about the latest addition to the work - the apprenticeship scheme for young people.

Funds for all charities are difficult at the moment and the fellowship is no exception so the work of the Millennium Committee, which I chair and which raises additional funds, becomes all the more important.

party at my home in St Leonards offering a good old-fashioned afternoon tea and the chance to look around the garden.

Amazingly it was sunny and warm with only a light breeze, despite copious amounts of rain in the days beforehand.

As a result of both events we raised in excess of £2,200 and hence my wish to express my thanks to all concerned but more particularly to the very hard-working ladies of the Millennium Committee.
