I HAVE just read about the Famously Hastings project; a welcome effort to attract more visitors to this very special town.
I moved to Hastings recently and one of the major factors in my decision to live here was the year-round offering of a wide variety of cultural events.
As many of the visitors who have already discovered the delights of Hastings and the additional visitors the council is seeking to attract through the new marketing campaign will arrive by train, would it not be a good idea to site an information point by the doors within the rail station?
Such a display could advertise what is going on over a given week / weekend and be changed weekly by the Tourist Information Centre staff.
There are of course many other activities which could be cost-effectively introduced to enhance the visitor’s experience but an attractive information point would I feel act as a fitting welcome to the town.
