ARE we in Hastings and St Leonards the Cinderella when it comes to maintaining our highways?
The condition of many roads is appalling, and not just restricted to the byways, with little or no repairs effected since the damaging weather conditions of the winter before last.
Even some of the repairs need repairing, obviously the work of Bob the Bodger.
There seems to be money available for other schemes, in particular rejigging pavement alignments, pedestrian precincts or putting in more traffic lights, where a number of decisions defeat all logic.
There are holes that are now downright dangerous and I think in particular of St Margaret’s Road, behind the White Rock Theatre, while Church Road, St Leonards beggars belief.
I have no doubt these conditions can be replicated all over our town.
