Look to example of past’s high standards

OVER many years I was the proud father to six children all were born at the Buchanan Hospital in London Road, St Leonards.

My two wives were both working at the hospital, one as the admin lady in X-ray and the other was a nurse.

The Buchanan was old but salvageable and a first class hospital, the prenatal care was superb and all my children were delivered safely by midwives. Why cannot the district have a similar maternity unit which has to be less expensive to run and staff?

Making women do a run to Eastbourne or Eastbourne to Hastings is insane, especially with the state of the roads.

I now live in Florida and thankfully no longer need the services of a maternity hospital.
