Lib Dems fight on in the Alan Turing case

HERE’S an update following the letter you published from Paul Broadhurst in June relating my colleague John Leech’s work to right the injustice meted out to Alan Turing because of his sexuality.

On Wednesday last week Lib Dem peer John Sharkey introduced a Private Member’s Bill in the Lords to grant a pardon to Alan Turing. John Leech, MP for Manchester Withington, will take the Bill through the Commons. Lib Dems have not let this issue go.

I want to thank Observer readers who have played their part in this important campaign.

I trust, not before time, we will get the right outcome.
