LETTER: Bonfire was the tamest for years

I lived in Hastings for 23 years and travelled from my home in Wales with seven others to see the bonfire celebrations which, believing the hype, was going to be the best ever.

To be honest, it was the most tame I had seen. The procession seemed to lack spirit (maybe the weather) and the fireworks were nowhere near as impressive as I had seen in the past.

No doubt Health and Safety (ministry against fun) had played their hand, but what a lost opportunity to make it an event to remember.
