I have one rented property. If I have to pay £500 to be registered, either I pass the charge on to my tenant or I probably stop letting. Many small landlords will find this petty bureaucracy an additional burden which will mean that the supply of privately-rented flats will dry up. Yet there is a big need for such flats.
Is this what our council wants?
