It was thin edge of the wedge

WHEN we petitioned against the then proposed car parking charge for Hastings Country Park we said the £1 charge was the thin end of the wedge.

We have been proved right as the charge has now doubled to £2. How long before it is doubled again?

But what worries me is this. Is the increase to fund plans to cut yet another tarmac swathe through this lovely wild area to provide a cycle track, thus allowing cyclists to hurtle across the park, where families are walking?

The Country Park has been referred to as ‘the jewel in Hastings’ crown’, please don’t wreck it.
