It’s not all about school results

Have your say

I RESPOND to your report about the recent Ofsted at Little Ridge Primary School.

I take issue with the sentence that the former head has been replaced. This says nothing about the man who led the school for nine years and gave life service to the school in guiding many pupils to future success.

Tom Collins, the outgoing headteacher, will be sorely missed by pupils, staff, governors and professional colleagues around our town and beyond.

Nothing was too much trouble in terms of supporting others and 150 colleagues came together to express their thanks for his unstinting work in wishing him well in the future.

Such an acknowledgement is important in the present climate in schools. Results are important but people are as well.
