Holocaust memorial had sensitive setting at SMC

LAST Saturday we went to the Holocaust Memorial Day Service in St Mary-in-the-Castle (SMC).

This event, beautifully and sensitively put together by several inter-faith organisations to remind us of man’s inhumanity to man, fitted in so well in SMC. The building, so elegant yet not pretentious, can host any and every type of event. There is no other venue as versatile in the south.

It was good to see, in SMC, our MP, a clutch of ex-mayors, a senior council official and, above all, the leader of the council. Most of these good people already support SMC. All we need now is for the whole council to realise that SMC should stay as it is and, for as long as possible, remain in the safe and capable hands of Barbara Rogers.
