A persuasive arguement being put forward for the Link Road is that it will not significantly increase traffic on the Ridge.
This is clearly a major issue of concern for businesses and residents as well as the emergency services. Serious congestion is particulary bad between Harrow Bridge and Baldslow roundabout at peak times.
It is interesting, therefore, that upon recently having a disabled bay installed I have now been informed by the occupational therapist, after conversations she had with Highways, that Highways expect traffic to significantly increase upon completion of the Link road and will remove the bay as it will block traffic flow. Significant traffic is also expected to access the Ridge if building plans are approved for Harrow Lane playing fields and adjacent land.
