LAST Thursday’s concert, combining the KNA male voice choir from Dordrecht and the Condonians Dixieland jazz band, was a huge success. The large audience appreciated the choir’s fine singing – in German, Dutch and superb English, and the hugely enjoyable jazz numbers introduced by the Condonians’ witty Andy Dickens. St Matthew’s Church rafters rang for two hours, and the evening raised more than £1,000, to be divided equally between the Hastings Sierra Leone Friendship Link and Macmillan.
The Hastings-Dordrecht Twinning Association exists to foster ties with our beautiful Dutch twin town. Hastings twinners will be going over to Dordrecht for the last weekend in May, when we’ll be celebrating 30 years of the link. Anyone who’d like to take part in the trip – whether to renew contact with Dordrecht or to discover the city for the first time – should get in touch as soon as possible with the association’s chairman, Peter Wellington, on 01424 433834.
