Birds and track very impressive

Recently, I visited Filsham Marshes. I saw swallows feeding on the wing and a pair of mute swans watching over five to six cygnets on the stream from Bulverhythe to Crowhurst.

Also of interest was the ongoing work on the new combined walkway, cycleway and horse riding track following the new St Leonards to Bexhill relief road. Very impressive.

Also, a reporter may like to visit the recycling yard at Bulverhythe and film the bird box there, which the gardener will tell you has eight bluetit chicks in it and two pretty exhausted parents working practically every day to keep them alive, despite the ever presence of a stalking magpie no doubt waiting for them to come out.

Is it illegal to kill magpies? When I was younger, I can recall often seeing a brace of magpies nailed to farm gates.
