ON behalf of HIV and sexual health charity Terrence Higgins Trust, I would like to say a huge thank you to the people of East Sussex who came together over the weekend to mark World AIDS Day (December 1) by standing up against HIV-related stigma and raising funds to support the 100,000 people living with the condition today.
A fantastic turnout of 120 people came along to our Red Party at Azur, Marina Pavilion in St Leonards, raising more than £600 for the charity in the process, and many more generous passers-by made donations to our team of street collectors at Hastings train station.
25 years since World AIDS Day was first observed, the event continues to draw an astonishing response from people and organisations across the globe, and all over this country.
Whether by fundraising for the charity, attending local events or simply wearing their red ribbon, the people of East Sussex can be proud of the part they have played in the international effort to raise awareness and stamp out HIV-related stigma this World AIDS Day. Thank you
