I AM glad David Pickles enjoys his visits to the Electric Palace Cinema (letters, December 23).
Its programme, I believe, as he rightly says, is an excellent arts/entertainment asset to our town.
He might like to spare a thought about the failure of its availability to any resident or visitor who has mobility problems, given the steep flight of stairs at the entrance. Wheelchair users in particular haven’t a hope of accessing this great resource.
Has the Equalities Commission nothing to say about this? Unless there is a generous benefactor in the background, I presume it must receive some public funding?
