A fine supper accompaniment

Thank you for printing my letter on May 6 about the nettles which are growing from the flower-pot I got from Benny at the Country Market.

She read the letter so on my next visit to the market she gave me a present – a lovely bag of stinging nettle-tops gathered by Bill, her husband.

With melted butter and a little salt they made a fine accompaniment to my supper.

Yes, yes, I did cook them first, like spinach. I can recommend such a vegetable, freely to be picked in many places.

Be careful to remove any caterpillars or spiders and avoid areas where male dogs roam.
