Young cricket players selected for national finals

A TEAM of young cricketers has been selected to represent Hastings at the national Street20 Cricket finals in London on April 12.

Last week saw the local finals of the StreetGames and Cricket 4 Change project, and more than 20 young people from across the town took part in a tournament at Hastings YMC Centre. ‘Street20’ Cricket is a fast moving game, designed to be played in crowded urban environments and using facilities such as five-a-side football pitches, basketball courts and sports halls.

The project is supported by Sussex Cricket and it allows young people from areas of deprivation to access cricket, make new friends and socialise.
