Xtrax held an end-of-year photography and soup event at the Owl and Pussycat on March 17 to celebrate the work the staff, volunteers and young people put in to help the homeless in Hastings through the Xtrax mobile soup kitchen.

Lynette Golnaraghi said: “More than 1,560 hot meals have been distributed to the homeless this year from our little mobile soup kitchen, and those who need and use our soup kitchen have become part of our community.”

Andrew Batsford, Xtrax centre manager, said: “It was a great evening to talk about and look back over the year of this important project. There should not be a need for soup kitchens in 2015 but my staff, volunteers and young people have responded to the need of our most vulnerable in Hastings and that needs recognising.”
