Woman who died after being found in the sea is identified

A WOMAN who died after being found in the sea to the west of the harbour arm has been named.

Victoria Smith, 58, of Priory Road, was spotted near to the shore at 5.30pm on Tuesday, May 28.

She was taken from the sea and police and paramedics attempted to resuscitate her but she was confirmed dead at the scene about a hour later.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious. An inquest is due to be opened tomorrow (Tuesday).
