STUDENTS from William Parker Sports College have been presented with awards for their role in this year’s Veterans’ Day commemorations.

The group were given framed certificates from the Hastings and St Leonards Veterans Association.

The students, accompanied by their parents and deputy head Brian Fox were welcomed by the chairman of the association, Bryan Hunter and association secretary, Councillor Richard Vallery-Peters at the town hall. After watching a short film of the recent visit by the association’s patron, HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, during which the students played a unique role as wreath bearers, they were presented with the certificates and a copy of the film.
