White witch’s starring role in comedy series

A WHITE witch is to feature in an upcoming TV sketch show this year

Kevin Carlyon, of Dane Road, St Leonards, is starring in Boom Town, a docu-soap set in a fictional town, which is due to air in the middle of August on BBC3.

The 30-minute show is made up of real people documenting their real-life exploits in their daily life and professions, rather like a fly-on-the-wall documentary.

Mr Carlyon is one of the cast and took part in filming the series earlier this year. He is one of a few characters to be chosen for the entire series, of which the initial one will have six episodes. Film crews also visited the paranormal researcher’s home and filmed in Hastings last year in preparation for the programme. Mr Carlyon added: “Boom Town has already been voted the best new show at the 2013 SBS (pre-Cannes TV Festival) pitch session out of 47 different shows and has made it into the top 10 at the Cannes TV Festival shortlist. It is eventually hoped that the show will sell on to 18 countries.

“I am simply playing myself in the series. It’s a comedy show but much stranger and surreal things happen to me in real life.”

The show is expected to start on August 19.
