A NEW state-of-the-art £16m building at Hastings Academy will open its doors for the first time on Monday.
After more than two years of building and reorganisation, staff will welcome its 735 pupils following the half-term break.
The old building, which dates back several decades, closed its doors for the last time on Friday February 8.
Pupils have had an extra week at home but were given online work to carry out.
Staff have spent the last two weeks packing hundreds of crates to shift their learning equipment and books into the new
building. Designed by London-based architects Feilden Clegg Bradley, the new school offers the latest in modern design and technology.
