Hundreds of visitors and residents descended on The Stade today (Saturday) to enjoy another true taste of the sea at the third Hastings Herring Fair.
Run by Hastings Borough Council on behalf of the Fisheries Local Action Group (FLAG) the fair aims to promote the undervalued but versatile herring and the fact that the Hastings fishing fleet has been recognised by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) for its sustainable fishing methods.
Locally herring, Dover sole and mackerel have all been awarded MSC certification.
The fair features the best of local producers alongside the humble herring. Also, there are local cider and meat firms selling their tasty wares.
The show is on tomorrow (Sunday) between 11-4. For more information visit http://www.hastingsfestivals.com/
