Three people ended up in hospital after two cars crashed head-on in Hastings yesterday (Thursday, June 30).

Emergency services were called to Old London Road to attend the crash involving a purple Fiat and a red Ford at around 5.55pm.

The Fiat driver, a 66-year-old woman from Northiam, suffered slight injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the Ford, a 21-year-old woman from Hastings, also sustained slight injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution as was her 31-year-old female passenger.

One of the women in the Ford had to be cut free from the car by East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.

The road was closed southbound for recovery work but reopened at around 7.30pm.
