UPDATE: Firefighters put out Hastings bus fire

Firefighters tackled a bus fire which caused disruption in Hastings last night (Thursday, December 8).

Two East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hastings were sent to the blazing bus near the roundabout at the junction of Mount Pleasant Road and Elphinstone Road at around 4.50pm.

Two Hastings appliances were sent and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used 1-in-7 foam and a hose reel jet to tackle the incident.

Environmental packs were used by crews and the Highways Agency attended, due to a diesel leak.

Sussex Police assisted with traffic control and crews left the scene at about 7.05pm.
