Trust volunteers work at The Bridge

A TEAM of young people in Hastings have just finished the latest Prince’s Trust team programme.

The 12-week personal development programme involved carrying out a community project at the Bridge Centre in Ore.

The team members worked on an access path to allow greater access for disabled users and parents with pushchairs to the garden. This involved cutting through and levelling off a steep slope in order for the path to be suitable.

They bordered off much of the Bridge’s vegetable plots using timber, donated by local organisations, which was sourced by the team members themselves following numerous phone calls and requests.

All of the team members also took part in a two-week work placement as part of their programme.

It included a week-long residential team building course at Hindleap Warren, Forest Row.

The programme, run in association with Sussex Downs College, is designed to help unemployed young people gain the skills and confidence to get a job.

It includes a residential week, a community-based project and a two-week work placement.
