Traffic is already extremely heavy all around Chichester, through the city, and on the A27 in a several mile radius with the final day of the Goodwood Festival of Speed taking place today, Sunday, June 26.
There is congestion all the way north to Singleton, and east beyond Boxgrove, as well as through villages to the south and west of Chichester, with the roads set to stay busy for most of the morning.
For those travelling to London by car, there are reports of an accident involving two cars on the M25 at around 9am, between junction ten, the A3 Wisley Interchange, and junction 11 with the A317 Chertsey.
One lane is closed in the clockwise direction and traffic is queueing between the two junctions.
There is also plenty of disruption on the trains today because of engineering works.
A number of Southern services are not running from stations in London, with replacement busses operating instead.
From 9.45pm busses will replace trains between Horsham and Bognor Regis.
Until 8.55am and from 11.55pm, buses will replace trains between Barnham and Portsmouth Harbour.
Southern is again reporting ongoing disruption ‘due to train crew availability’, though most early trains along the coastal line were said to be running on time.
