A man has been taken to hospital after being a skylight window fell onto his head in St Leonards this afternoon (Thursday, November 17).
The man, believed to be in his 40s, was hit by the skylight which fell off a roof on Kings Road shortly after midday
The casualty was treated by paramedics before being taken to the Conquest Hospital as a priority but he was conscious.
Hastings Borough Council’s building inspector went up on the fire service’s hydraulic lift to inspect the roof of the building.
It was very windy, which made visibility difficult, but there did not appear to be any further loose debris, according to a council spokesman.
“Builders are currently on site doing a further inspection,” the spokesman said.
“We do not believe there is any danger of more debris falling into the street, and this should be confirmed shortly.”
The spokesman added the managing agent for the building has been notified.
Kings Road was closed while the incident was dealt with but has now reopened.
