Seven-year-old boy injured after Hastings collision

A seven-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being injured in a collision with a car in Hastings last night (Tuesday, August 23).

Police received a report a child had been hit by a red Skoda Octavia in Hughenden Road shortly after 8pm.

It appears the local boy stepped out from behind a truck and into the path of the Skoda.

He was taken to Conquest Hospital in Hastings with a minor leg injury.

The driver of the Skoda stopped briefly, but then left the scene before exchanging details.

Police would like to speak to him in connection with the incident.
