Battle Road, St Leonards, was temporarily closed today (Friday, July 10) after a cyclist appeared to collapse at the junction with Telford Road.

The cyclist had cuts to his head and shoulder but there were no signs of another vehicle being involved.

An ambulance and police attended the scene at around 4.30 before he was airlifted to hospital.

Witnesses said they just saw him lying in the road with no one around him and his bike between his legs before calling the emergency services.
