Cyclist in serious condition after road collision

A CYCLIST was flown to hospital by air ambulance after a collision with a van on Saturday (April 14).

The 46-year-old from Hastings was riding a black Triestina Wilier bike, which collided with a green Ford van in Priory Road near North Terrace at around 11.10am.

Police and emergency vehicles were called to the scene and the man was taken to Kings College Hospital in London, suffering from broken ribs and a head injury.

He remains in a serious but stable condition.

The 41-year-old van driver from Hastings was uninjured.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the van or cyclist prior to the incident is asked to call police on 101 quoting Operation Duplex.
