Professional Toastmaster Neil Hunt will be at the Azur in St Leonards, on Monday November 28 to give a talk and presentation to Hastings and Rother U3A.
Carole Woodland, from the group, said: “Neil Hunt, regaled in the full uniform of a toastmaster, will be giving us an insight into the life of a toast master which will include some humorous anecdotes.
“There is a lift and coffee is available from 9.45am and the meeting starts at 10.30am.
“Visitors to our recent U3A Showcase morning could have been left in no doubt that here was a very well run and popular society.
“Visitors were welcomed with enthusiasm by volunteers as they entered the two halls, where convenors of groups informed them about the groups they were running.
A slide show in one of the halls showed visitors some visual delights and they were also able to discover about the monthly coffee mornings and talks on offer to members.
“Clearly, it was unsurprising that new members were signed up. Well done to all involved but in particular to the main forces behind the event Lorna and Tricia.”
The U3A (University of the Third Age) allows retired, amnd semi-retired, people living in Hastings and Bexhill, to remain active and develop interests.
Members promote the values of lifelong learning. Learning is for its own sake, with enjoyment being the prime motive, not qualifications or awards.
Each U3A is self-funded with membership subscriptions and costs kept as low as possible.
The group is holding a Christmas Social on Monday, December 12.
You can attend two meetings before you decide whether to join. On arrival you will be met by greeters and asked to sign in. If you decide to join, it costs £17 and then all the talks are free.
