Three men arrested after police pursuit

THREE men have been arrested after a police pursuit during rush hour this morning (Monday 24) in St Leonards. Police responded to a call at 7.50am reporting a stolen Toyota Aygo from a house in Albany Road. The car was traced travelling eastbound on the A259 when it collided with three cars before stopping at the junction of Bexhill Road and Bulverhythe Road. Four people ran from the vehicle and three men from St Leonards were arrested, two for burglary and one for aggravated vehicle taking. The three men are in custody but a forth man is outstanding and police enquiries continue. The incident caused delays to motorists travelling along Bexhill Road. A Bexhill motorist told the Observer: “I was stuck in traffic this morning and all of a sudden six police cars came speeding past, one after the other. I couldn’t really see what was happening. It was gridlocked and traffic was ground to a halt. It was a nightmare.”
