AFTER 23 years at the White Rock Theatre Val Hopgood has retired as ticket office manager.

Last Saturday (September 22), the cast of Dreamboats, Val’s favourite musical was on hand to present her with flowers, making her dream come true of finally taking to the stage of the White Rock Theatre.

On Sunday, September 23, friends, family and work colleagues organised a surprise party at the theatre and were given an opportunity to say their farewells to Val, who has become such a familiar face and friend to everyone at the theatre.

Among the many gifts and flowers she was presented a laptop so that she will be able to keep in touch.

Howard Barnes, theatre director said: “Val has given excellent customer service to many thousands of people over an impressive 23 years and she will be sorely missed by her colleagues and customers alike.”
