Next year’s council will include the following elected members Eric Cruttenden, Peter Georgiadis, Wenche Georgiadis, Derek Lawence and Mike Stewart. The club’s council meets monthly primarily addressing financial and membership of the club.

The club was pleased to welcome Ron Dubbins who is currently vice-president of the Rotary Club of Newmarket, Ron visits Hastings regularly and always tries to visit a couple of the local clubs.

Club members had also been visiting a number of other clubs and greetings were brought form St Leonards, Rye and Winchelsea, Bexhill, Eastbourne Sovereign as well as a club in France.

Thanks were given to Bernard Mallion for his excellent organisation of the recent visit to Kew Gardens. Thanks were also given by Derek Lawrence to all the members that had assisted in the recent Know your Blood Pressure day held in Priory Meadow. The club’s programme continues to be very busy with a visit to Sussex Coast College, the Secondary School Choir Competition at the White Rock on May 17 as well as an in-house version of Desert Island Discs.
