A teenager was attacked and robbed in Hastings.

The 15-year-old was running in Alexandra Park, close to the reservoir, when he was grabbed from behind at about 7.45pm on Sunday (June 21).

The attacker threatened the boy and demanded he hand over his grey iPhone 5S in a black plastic case.

The boy handed over his phone and the thief escaped.

The robber was white, 16 to 18 and of slim to moderate build with short light brown hair. He was wearing dark blue skinny jeans and a black Adidas tracksuit top with yellow and white stripes down the arms.

Sergeant Kerry Banks said: “This was a very nasty attack.

“We need to speak to anyone who was in or around Alexandra Park and saw a teenager fitting the description of the attacker. We would also like to speak to anyone who has been offered or is offered the chance to buy a grey iPhone 5s.”
