GENEROUS shoppers at a St Leonards supermarket have been digging deep to raise thousands of pounds for a crucial local charity.

Sainsbury’s in Sedlescombe Road North is supporting the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) and has so far raised £13,008. That huge total includes £1,442 made over the pre-Valentine’s Day weekend when volunteers were in store wrapping flowers for romantic gifts in exchange for donations.
