A POPULAR series of walks saw their 1,000th visitor recently.

Nigel Raymond was the lucky winner of a voucher to spend at the Fishermen’s Museum, as part of the contest run by the Stade Guided Walks.

Mr Raymond, who can often be seen on guided walks in the local area, chose to buy some local history books with his winnings.

Councillor Trevor Webb, lead member for leisure at Hastings Borough Council, said: “I’d like to thank Beatrice Rapley for her hard work in promoting these events and of course the volunteers who help run them. It’s a wonderful achievement and a milestone for this project which has proved very popular.”

The Stade Guided Walks have now finished for this year.
