Young actors from Hastings and Bexhill will be paying tribute to Terry Pratchett’s influence on the world of fantasy fiction with an interpretation of one the author’s best loved tales.

The Stables Youth Theatre’s production on Mort opened on Wednesday and can be seen at the theatre in Hastings Old Town on Friday September 4 and Saturday 5.

The fourth of Pratchett’s Discworld novels, Mort is the story of a young man who secures a job as assistant to the Grim Reaper.

All goes well until he accompanies Death harvesting souls – and starts interfering with fate.

Then Death takes the evening off, reality becomes confused and is spinning out of Mort’s control in a mess of emotions and misunderstandings.

Mort is a Stables Youth Theatre production directed by Niall Whitehead and Maureen Nelson.

Adults £12.50. Members, under-18s and groups £7.50. Book online or call the box office on 01424 423221.

Renowned fantasy author Sir Terry Pratchett died in March this year.
