SHOPPERS and staff at Morrison’s helped raise more than £5,000 for St Michael’s Hospice over the course of last year.

Regular bucket collections at the Queens Road store netted £5,500 for the St Leonards-based charity.

Julie Brett, community fundraiser at the hospice, said: “I am thrilled with the amount raised during the year.

“It has been a fabulous opportunity to meet the customers at Morrison’s and explain the work that we undertake at St Michael’s.”

She added: “Everyone has been so generous and I would like to say a big thank-you to all of the shoppers who helped us to raise this money.

“The staff at Morrison’s have been fabulous and really supportive so this has been a truly successful partnership.”
