Two men have been fined after pleading guilty to possession of cannabis resin after they were stopped for speeding in Hastings.
Dominic Weltner-Gausden and Marlowe Cruttenden appeared before Hastings Magistrates Court on Monday 18 June.
Weltner-Gausden, 22, from Amherst Close, Hastings and his passenger Marlowe Cruttenden, 21, from Cross Street, St Leonards were stopped by officers doing routine speed checks in Amherst Road, Hastings, on Sunday 3 June.
The magistrates heard that Weltner-Gausden was driving at about 44mph in a 30mph speed limit. He received an on the spot fine of £60 and three points to his licence. Officers could smell what they believed to be cannabis and did a search in the vehicle and found a quantity of cannabis resin.
Both were arrested and charged with possession of a class B drug. Both were fined £135 by the court.
