‘Small’ hob fire in Hastings

A ‘small’ fire on a kitchen hob was extinguished by firefighters this afternoon (Tuesday, January 5).

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a smell of smoke at a property on Holmsdale Gardens.

Three appliances from Hastings were mobilised to the scene at around 1:10pm.

Crews used one CO2 extinguisher to put out a small fore on the hob.

A positive pressure fan was used to ventilate the area.

Firefighters left the scene at 1:30pm.
