Hastings Week’s opening ceremony on Saturday (October 10) drew in the crowds at Queen’s Square in Priory Meadow.
Mayor Bruce Dowling, together with Nigel Hogben, chairman of the Hastings Week committee, announced the official launch of the week-long festivities outside the town hall before a parade, made up of standard bearers and other groups marched towards The Stade.
The Gonfalon, the flag of William the Conqueror, was also unfurled.
Members of Guides and Brownies groups also entertained the crowds with singing and dancing.
The classic car show on The Stade also took place throughout the weekend, with scores of vintage vehicles on show for visitors.
