OLD Town Carnival Week ended in a blaze of colour on Saturday with a procession of floats, clowns and carnival royalty.
Hundreds of spectators lined the seafront route to watch the grand procession, which marks the climax of ten days of events across Hastings.
Ion Castro, spokesman for Hastings Old Town Carnival Association, said the threat of rain didn’t dampen spirits on the day.
“The early bad weather didn’t seem to have put anyone off,” he said. “We had a very high standard of entries.
“I don’t think I’ve seen so many beautiful floats before - the people of Hastings can be very proud of themselves.”
Ore Masqueraders won best in show for the motorised floats, while Bugsy Malone took the top prize for pedestrians - adding another trophy to their pram race victory.
