The sky is the limit for a daring pensioner who is planning to climb the challenging 22,500 foot high Mera Peak in Nepal’s Himalayas.
Unfortunately, shortly before leaving her home in Fletching for Nepal, she had a fall and was unable to make the trip. Deeply disappointed, Lady Collum immediately vowed to try again this year. And that’s what she is about to do, to raise money for county-wide charity Friends of Sussex Hospices which includes St Michael’s Hospice. “Hospices offer an invaluable service to the community but receive very little government funding,” she said. Noel Collum made her first serious mountain climb aged 70 and has already climbed Mont Blanc in 2011. To support her JustGiving page: www.justgiving.com/noelcollummerapeak
