TWO sisters have won a trip of a lifetime after entering their specially crafted collage into a competition.

Rowan Barton-Dibble, 5, and her sister Tarran, 6, have won a whalewatching trip after their picture was picked as the winner of a competition run by website tots100.co.uk to mark the DVD release of the film Big Miracle, a story of the rescue of Grey Whales trapped in ice.

The girls, who live in Hastings and attend Battle and Langton C of E Primary School, together decided that instead of a drawing, they would make a collage, and came up with the design by themselves.

Mum Anthea Barton captured the creative pair in action, and video and photographs are posted on her blog at zingzingtree.wordpress.com/2012/06/25/how-to-make-whale-collage/.

She said: “They chose the materials and then sat down and spent most of the day doing it together.

“They are very excited, and there is a lot of interest in dolphins and whales at the moment.”

The mini whale and dolphin spotting cruises are run from the south coast of England across the Bay of Biscay by Brittany Ferries in conjunction with conservation charity ORCA.
